Muslims should be made to feel like government cares: BJP Minority President
Despite
the numerous lynchings against minorities, the ministers in the ruling
party have largely maintained a startling silence
New Delhi: Over
the past few months, what's become more disturbing than the multiple
lynchings is the government's startling silence regarding the attacks.
In the wake of demands that the government condemn
and stop further attacks, BJP Minority Morcha president Abdul Rasheed
Ansari told Indian Express on Monday that his party was "concerned"
about the lynchings against minorities and they should be made to feel
that “the government cares for them”.
“The community should be given an atmosphere where
they feel safe and secure and that the government cares for them,”
Ansari told The Indian Express on the sidelines of Eid celebrations
hosted by senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain.
This comes after Junaid Khan (17) was stabbed to
death while his brothers -Hashim and Sakir - were injured by a mob which
also allegedly abused them and called them "beef eaters" onboard the
Delhi-Mathura passenger train between Ballabgarh and Mathura stations on
Thursday night.
Following this dastardly incident, the Muslim
community of Ballabgarh, Junaid's village, wore black bands on Eid in
mourning - an act that was replicated in many parts of the nation.
